Proposed business & project structure

Legal identity, governance, data protection & IP.

How Land Passport is intended to be operated, governed and protected — and how partners could take part without any partnership being implied before it is agreed.

02

Governance & collaboration

The platform follows a founder-led commercial model, supported by specialist technical advisers and potential research partners. The University of Derby, Derby City Council, developers and other organisations may participate through formally agreed research, advisory or pilot arrangements. No institutional partnership is implied until confirmed.

04

Intellectual property & ownership

Existing intellectual property remains with its respective owners. The platform operator is intended to own or hold appropriate licences to the Land Passport technology, software, branding and proprietary systems. Jointly developed innovations, research findings, licensing and commercial rights will be governed by written collaboration agreements.

05

Commercial & research development

The proposed model combines private-sector technology development, university-led research and practical industry pilots. The objective is to establish a commercially sustainable, interoperable platform capable of supporting wider public-sector and private-sector adoption.

Status: proposed operational and governance framework, subject to formal legal arrangements and partnership agreements.
